INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA Saturday 17th May 2008 was the International Day Against Homophobia. With the support of Northamptonshire County Council & Northampton Borough Council we met at the Guildhall Courtyard just before 1pm. After a few words from Her Worship the Mayor Cllr Lee Mason & the Co Chair of the LGB People's Forum Cllr Richard Church, Gillian O'Leary, NLGBA Executive Member call all those present to a MINUTE's NOISE. The minutes noise was in global solidarity for those around the world in 86 countries that have to remain silent about their sexuality. Following the event at the Guildhall Courtyard we walked from the Rainbow Flag flying at Guildhall to the one at County Hall George Row. This was the first time that NCC have flown the Rainbow Flag in support of LGBT issues. The Chronicle and Echo covered the event and you can read their story and watch a short video here: Visit www.idaho.org.uk for more info on IDAHO .
