Call for Partnership Poems

NLGBA recently hosted an evening with Bruce Wall, Head of Registrations Northamptonshire, discussing the up and coming Civil Partnership legislation and answering any questions that couples looking to make use of the new laws might have had. The evening was hugely successful and managed to clarify many issues held by those who attended.

Bruce has put out a call to NLGBA members asking for thoughts and ideas for suitable and appropriate poems and readings etc that can be incorporated into choices available for same sex couples arranging their civil partnership ceremonies.

Unlike some other parts of the Country where Councils are dragging their feet, Northamptonshire Registration Service is being positively pro-active, and it would be great to respond to this ethusiasm.

There is no restriction on the words etc used for the ceremonies, and members that attended the Chill 'n' Chat recently will have experienced first hand the form of words put together by the Association of Registration Officers - all felt these were excellent. However Bruce wants as many options as possible - so if you know of a poem of meaning to Lesbians & Gay Men, or of a reading etc that could be used please let us know.
